Pink Hair

Updated: Jul 10, 2020

I get so many questions about my hair and how I keep it so pink. Hopefully this will answer all your questions.

I go to my hairdresser Kayleigh at Taylor Taylor, every 6-8 weeks. I get it bleached and toned. Kayleigh uses the brand Kevin Murphey and always uses Olaplex on my hair to keep it in good condition. I previously had my hair coloured brown and I’m naturally quite dark, so it took about a year of blonde highlights and eventually a full head of bleach from the root to get my hair light enough to go pink.

Every 2-3 days I wash my hair using Bleach London Rose Shampoo and Conditioner, I swear by this stuff! It keeps the colour so vibrant, but it does dry my hair out a little bit. When my hair is feeling dry I use Herbal Essences Repair Shampoo. I’m not too picky though, anything that claims to repair or hydrate my hair will do.

To keep my hair in good condition I use Olaplex No.3 once a week. I blast my hair with the shower head and wrap it in a towel for about 10 minutes before sectioning my hair and saturating it in Olaplex. I usually leave this on for about an hour. Sometimes I will sleep with it on. The difference this makes to your hair is unreal. I’m not a hairdresser so I don’t know the technical terms or how it does it, but it literally changes the condition of my hair from dry and frizzy to silky and soft.

If I feel like my colour is fading and needs some love, I use Bleach London Super Cool Colour in Rose. I usually mix this with a squirt of Olaplex No.3 so it doesn’t dry my hair out. I section off my hair and apply the mixture (use gloves unless you want pink hands) all over my hair and leave on for about 30 minutes before washing out.

Having pink hair requires a lot of up keep, but I love it!

Hope this helps.
