Top 10 Beauty Products

Updated: Apr 8, 2019

Before I had Frankie, I had seriously oily skin and would do anything to combat it, which included plastering my face in powder and the most matte foundation I could find. Post Frankie my skin is completely different, it’s now dry and dull. It took me a long time to get used to this and figure out which products work best for me. If only I had embraced the glow while I had it! Here are my 10 current favourite beauty products for acheiving glorious sun kissed radiant skin in the order I use them.

1. The Body Shop Vitamin C Daily Glow Cleansing Polish - £11

I use this as my every day exfoliator in the shower. It’s gentle enough to use every day but definitely makes a difference to my skin. My skin feels clean and refreshed, ready for my moisturiser.

2. The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser - £16

This stuff completely transformed my skin from dull and dry to radiant and glowy. I use a small amount all over my face every day when I get out of the shower. The scent is refreshing and clean but not too overpowering. I buy all my Body Shop goodies from Laura, she has so much knowledge about the brand and skin care and she throws a fab party.

3. Beauty Pie Bio-Infusion Breathable Primer - £4.58

I’m about to pass on to you THE best bit of advice I have ever received about make-up, if your favourite foundation is water based, make sure your primer is water based. If your foundation is silicone or oil based, then use a silicone or oil based primer! It stops your foundation from breaking up on your face, gives a more even finish and helps it last all day. Seriously, try it! But that’s why I use this primer, simply because its water based and so is my foundation. The primer is light, moisturising and helps my foundation glide on.

4. Beauty Pie Everyday Great Skin Foundation - £7.10

If you watch my Instagram stories you’ve probably heard me parp on about Beauty Pie a lot! Beauty Pie is basically a luxury beauty brand with budget prices. The Everyday Great Skin foundation has been likened to Georgio Armani Luminous Silk. I’ve used both and other than the price tag, I can tell you, there is no difference! It glides on and blends so beautifully and although it does create a flawless look, I love that I can still see my freckles through it and my skin still looks natural. I use the shade 450 Shea.

5. MAC Mineralize Skin Finish - £25.50

I use this as my contour and eye shadow. It blends beautifully and gives me a glowy look. I’m not a huge fan of overly ashy tones as my contour as I feel it makes me look dirty. Medium Deep is the perfect colour for me. It lasts all day and doesn’t look ‘muddy’ or patchy, which is a problem I usually have with bronzers and contouring powders. For my eyes, I grab a small amount of product on a fluffy blending brush and apply it to my crease and under my eyes. Super simple but I love it for my every day make-up look.

6. Revolution Setting Spray - £6

There’s not loads I can say about this and to be honest I’m not overly fussy about the brand, this is just the one I’ve been using for a while and I haven’t any complaints. For me, a setting spray is vital in my routine. I’m a Mum, Frankie is forever touching my face, climbing on me, poking me, etc. Even when I’m not with him, I’m a face toucher, I just can’t help it. Setting spray helps keep my make-up in place without me having to worry about constantly re-touching.

7. Mac Lipstick Kinda Sexy - £17.50

My all-time favourite shade. The perfect nude for my skin tone and lasts really well. It’s a matte formula but doesn’t feel drying at all.

8. Garnier Micellar Oil Infused Cleansing Water - £6.99

When it comes to the end of the day, I love the feeling of taking my make-up of and giving myself a mini pamper. I started using the oil infused cleansing water after I had an allergic reaction under my eyes recently and the normal Garnier Micellar water was irritating it. But I don’t think I will go back now. The oil infused water feels so gentle and kind to my skin. It doesn’t dry me out at all. It removes all my make-up, including eye make-up, with ease.

9. Aveeno Daily Moisturising Creamy Oil - £7.69

This is a fairly new discovery for my face. Although, Aveeno has been top dog in my house since Frankie suffered with eczema when he was a baby and Aveeno was the only thing that helped him. When I recently suffered with the allergic reaction under my eyes, it caused my skin to be so dry and flaky. My doctor recommended I try the oil version of Aveeno. Although marketed as an oil, it is more of a light cream, it’s so moisturising and my skin has been absolutely loving it! Since using Aveeno on my face, I have noticed such a difference in texture and even fine lines and wrinkly bits. I cannot recommend this enough!

10. Vaseline with Aloe Vera - £1.95

Probably the most obvious thing ever, but I couldn’t not mention it. Vaseline is my most used product. I hate having dry and chapped lips and I have tried pretty much every lip moisturiser to ever exist, but I always go back to my trusty Vaseline with Aloe. If I want to look even more glowy, I apply a little bit of Vaseline on the high points of my cheek bones. It gives a really natural highlight and makes you look super healthy and radiant.

I’d love to know your ride or die beauty products? I’m in the market for a new mascara so come at me with your suggestions!
