Hannah is one of the sweetest girls I've spoken to on the internet, I had the pleasure of meeting her smiley self a few weeks ago at Pregnant Then Screwed Live. She is the founder of Tilly Hobbs & Co, a muslin cloth designer based in Manchester.
"What is feminism to me? A big big question, I sat down to plan writing this blog a few times, doing some brain storms, a few bullet pointed lists but I've decided to go with the word vom approach so here goes: Feminism to me means choices. Choices over my body, my education and career, the people I choose to have around me and the relationships I hold close. I revel in the fact that I can choose to dress like a hobo or go full on instahun and believe that this decision does not reflect on my beliefs or morals but purely because I fancy it!
My daughter has had a massive influence on my passion for equality and I've been very conscious of the way I engage with her from being tiny. She can and will be as big and strong as her male counterparts, no princesses round here 🙅
Feminism to me is taking the bins out because I contribute to a household equally and am not precious about jobs that need to be done. I will always challenge people who suggest I should cook dinner/breakfast for my husband after he works all week - what do you think I've been doing flower? 🤣
Most importantly feminism to me, is about support. I'm the biggest cheerleader of women around me, both in real life and in these instagram squares I spend my life in! Because let's take those drunken toilet hugs out into the world, if you see a girl with a nice dress on tell her! If you see someone doing a great job at mumming then let them know, we're all out here trying to be Beyonce but lord knows we need those Kelly's and Michelle's too."
